Sorensen Rise is a masterplanned estate on Australia Drive in Southside, the most sought after pocket of Gympie. It is a brand new home at established-market value, in a suburb growing at double digits, with almost no rental stock and billions in infrastructure committed nearby.
Double digit capital growth. Southside up 13.74 per cent over the past year; the wider region 15.8 per cent per year over five years.
Acute rental scarcity. A 0.3 per cent regional vacancy rate, against 1.2 per cent nationally.
Significant investment nearby. A completed bypass, a $9 billion highway program, the $14.2 billion Borumba project and State funding for more than 5,300 new homes.
Lifestyle and access. Around 30 minutes to Noosa, larger blocks, and established schools and shopping.
Gympie CBD, schools and shopping are minutes away. Southside is an established community, not a paddock release, so amenity already exists around it.
Noosa is roughly 30 minutes south, the broader Sunshine Coast around one hour, and Brisbane about two hours via the upgraded highway.
Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay and the Mary Valley place beaches, fishing and hinterland weekends within easy reach.
Schools and family infrastructure
Southside is well served for families, a key driver of both owner occupier demand and tenant stability. Gympie South State School sits within Southside itself, with One Mile State School on the south eastern side of town.
Victory College offers a Prep to Year 12 independent pathway drawing from across the region, alongside
Gympie State High School and Cooloola Christian College.
Retail, health and recreation
Goldfields Plaza, anchored by Coles and K Hub, was fully refurbished and extended in 2021, and Council is
moving to rezone both Goldfields and Gympie Central to principal centre status, recognising them as the
region's primary retail hubs. Early stage planning is underway for a redevelopment of Gympie Hospital.
Council's 2025 to 2026 budget commits $38.9 million to community services, facilities, parks and recreation,
including a $7.5 million renewal of the Civic Centre.
